come from Hammersmith, London where I lived for a few years, eventually moving to Southampton when I was quite young. It was here in
my early childhood I did the odd drawing in chalks on a child's blackboard, but nothing really happened with my artistic skills which
were considered pretty hopeless in general and it was true to say I was pretty much near the bottom of the class most of the time which
was surprising as I came from an artistic and musical family. This talent and skill wasn’t to be mine for several years. Encouragement
came through painting by numbers and “doodling’ became fashionable at one time. I worked in a bank for nearly nine years and started
doodling between customers on blotting paper and doodled even more when I became manageress and assistant manager of a well known record
shop in Southampton. one day, between customers, I drew my dog who came out of doodling.
used to love visiting the London Galleries on my days off admiring the works of Turner, Constable and in particular Gainsborough
and his famous paintings of the Blue Boy and his ladies. I stood for ages becoming totally absorbed by them.
am a passionate, dedicated artist very committed to my work. I find each painting so different from the one before and a
different challenge, especially landscapes, forest scenes, our beautiful wild rugged coastline with it’s quaint fishing harbours,
picturesque caves and beautiful beaches. Above all i love painting people’s pets. I adore cats and dogs.
any years ago I became involved with the healing. I was a healer for Mrs. Grace Murdoch in Southampton for over 20 years.
When living in Southampton I became a full member of Romsey Art Group. It wasn’t until my father passed that I really got going,
when a friend gave me a small box of oil paints and a canvas. undoubtedly much of my inspiration came from Grace’s healing circle
and my first sale went to Florida, USA.
t is simply a privilege living amongst the Cornish people who, like my husband, have been truly supportive and helped me so
much on my life’s pathway. Thank you for reading this. Finally, I wish to dedicate my web site to mum and dad, Mrs. Grace Murdoch
and all those I hold dear to my heart.
